Handmade with versatility at its core, designed specifically for soccer.

Using my skills of crochet to make a multi use soccer net, created for all soccer players.
Grounded in athlete needs, informed by performance research, and executed as a groundbreaking, high-impact design.

How it started
SlingShot began with a clear challenge: soccer players and coaches are carrying too much, investing in equipment that wears out quickly, and constantly searching for better solutions. Drawing from my experience in soccer, I understood the frustration of training alone or with a small group: often without a net or an efficient way to carry multiple balls.
The design process centered on developing a durable, functional net capable of carrying four to six balls while remaining easy to use and transport.
What started as a simple net evolved into a broader exploration of multi-use athletic equipment; designed to reduce excess gear and support athletes in a variety of training environments.
What I Learned
This project reinforced the importance of designing from real athletic experience. By drawing directly from my background in soccer, I learned how firsthand insight can quickly reveal unmet needs that are often overlooked in existing equipment.
I also gained a deeper understanding of how simplicity and multifunctionality can improve usability. Designing SlingShot challenged me to balance capacity, durability, and ease of transport; proving that one well-considered product can replace multiple pieces of gear.
Most importantly, I learned how to translate a simple idea into a scalable, athlete-first solution by focusing on functionality, iteration, and real-world training scenarios.
Project outcome
Rol-Me became a tool that fits the rhythm of a collegiate athlete’s life, as well as any other athlete. It allows them to quickly roll out, leading to a greater understanding of what their body actually needs, regardless of where they are. The outcome is a product that empowers athletes to take ownership of their recovery in a simple, accessible way.
Looking forward, Rol-Me will continue to grow with the needs of athletes. Future opportunities include expanding recovery content, adding an intelligent system, and enabling seamless communication between athletes and sports medicine staff. The long-term vision is a tool that supports recovery before, during, and after every session.
Carry.
