Using my personal experience of growing up with many siblings to design a table for all occasions.

How it started
Socializzare started with a single observation: shared spaces rarely adapt as easily as the people who use them. Growing up with sisters, the dining table was constantly in use—hosting meals, conversations, projects, and spontaneous gatherings—yet it was never designed to shift with those changing needs. Homes are dynamic, social environments, but traditional dining furniture often remains rigid and fixed.
I began observing social behaviors, mapping shared-space dynamics, and identifying the moments where static furniture created friction. This process led me to explore how a dining table could respond intuitively to hosting, flexibility, and everyday social living.
What started as a personal reflection on shared living evolved into Socializzare—a transformable dining table designed to support connection, adaptability, and the fluid rhythms of social life.
What I Learned
This project taught me that social design starts with observation, not assumptions. Growing up with sisters gave me intuition, but designing Socializzare required translating lived experience into clear user needs and design constraints. What feels natural in a shared space often needs to be carefully designed to actually function.
This project strengthened my ability to develop multiple unique concepts within one cohesive presentation while navigating tight deadlines and rapidly generating fully formed ideas.
I learned how to analyze social behaviors, identify moments of friction in shared living, and design for flexibility without sacrificing form or presence. Balancing transformability with elegance pushed me to think critically about mechanisms, proportions, and user interaction.
Below are early variations of each table.
What began as a furniture concept ultimately strengthened my ability to design for human dynamics—creating objects that quietly support connection, adaptability, and everyday life.

Project outcome
Socializzare became a dining table that fits the rhythm of shared living, adapting to everyday moments as well as larger social gatherings. It allows users to easily transform their space, creating room for connection, conversation, and flexibility without disrupting the flow of the home. The outcome is a piece of furniture that empowers people to shape their environment in a simple, intuitive way.
Looking forward, Socializzare has the potential to evolve alongside changing lifestyles. Future opportunities include expanding modular components, refining transformable mechanisms, and exploring material variations to suit different spaces. The long-term vision is a dining system that supports connection, adaptability, and social life across a wide range of living environments.
